Christ the Saviour Cathedral

The Christ The Saviour Cathedral in Moscow was rebuilt in the late 1990s in the same location where the original cathedral stood. After Kalmar had completed the Kremlin project we were approached by Mr. Dementsov, architect of Mosprojekt II and Tsorap Tsereteli, a famous sculptor originally from Georgia, to create a joint venture for the reconstruction of the original chandeliers from drawings which luckily survived the communist era destructions of many important historical and religious buildings and artifacts. Dementsov, Tsereteli, Kalmar and BGS Industrial, formed a limited company in Vienna and Kalmar proceeded with the design of one prototype chandlier which was delivered and installed.
